These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Code Blue Companion™ (“the app”), provided by PediaOS™ (Dr Vignesh N) (“we”, “us”) through the website cbc.pediaos.com and the Android app. By opening, installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Medical disclaimer. The app is a decision-support aid for trained clinicians. It assists recall and calculation only. Every dose, energy and calculation must be independently verified by a qualified clinician before administration. The app does not replace clinical judgment, local protocols or training, and the treating clinician remains fully responsible for every clinical decision.

1. Who may use the app

The app is intended for qualified healthcare professionals, and for students and trainees under supervision, who are trained in paediatric resuscitation. You must be at least 18 years old. The app is not intended for use by patients or members of the public to make medical decisions.

2. Clinical use and limitations

Calculations are based on published AHA PALS and APLS guidance and on the weight you enter. A wrong weight gives wrong doses. Always confirm the weight and every result.
The app covers infants and children beyond the newborn period. It is not for delivery-room or newborn (NRP) resuscitation.
Guidelines change. We aim to keep the app current but do not guarantee that it reflects the latest guidance or your local protocol, which takes precedence.
Timers, prompts and voice read-out are reminders only. They may be delayed, silent or unavailable (for example if the device is muted, locked or out of battery).
Do not rely on the app as your only resource. Always keep standard printed resuscitation charts and equipment available.

3. Licence

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app for clinical, educational and quality-improvement purposes, in line with these Terms and any subscription that applies to you. You must not:

copy, modify, translate or create derivative works from the app, its code, text, design or dose tables;
reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the source code, except where the law expressly allows it;
sell, sub-license, rent, redistribute, frame or re-publish the app or any part of it;
remove or alter any copyright, trademark or disclaimer notice;
use the app to build a competing product, or scrape or automatically extract its content.

4. Ownership and trademarks

The app, including its source code, text, design, graphics and dose tables, is owned by PediaOS (Dr Vignesh N) and is protected by copyright and other laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved. Code Blue Companion™ and PediaOS™, and their logos, are trademarks of PediaOS. Nothing in these Terms gives you any right to use them.

5. Accounts and access

Keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
Where an institution is given a shared login, the institution is responsible for who uses it and for keeping its password secure.
New individual accounts require our approval before use.
Demo mode lets you try the app without an account for a limited number of uses on a device.
We may suspend, limit or revoke access at any time, including if these Terms are breached or a subscription ends.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Institutional and paid access is provided for the period agreed with us. Fees, invoicing and any refunds are governed by the separate agreement or invoice between you and us. Access ends automatically when a subscription expires unless it is renewed. We may change prices for future periods with reasonable notice.

7. Patient information

Do not enter patient names, hospital numbers or any other information that identifies a patient. You are responsible for complying with the patient-confidentiality and data-protection rules that apply to you and your institution.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the app available, including offline, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or available at any particular time. We may change, suspend or discontinue any feature.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PediaOS and Dr Vignesh N are not liable for any clinical outcome, or for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, arising from use of, or inability to use, the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Third-party guidance and links

The app refers to published guidance from the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Advanced Life Support Group (ALSG). We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the AHA or ALSG. Links to third-party websites are for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “last updated” date above will change, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Ending your use

You may stop using the app at any time and delete your account from the account panel (see the Privacy Policy). Sections 3, 4, 9, 10 and 14 continue to apply after your use ends.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the app or these Terms.
